Meet Our Team! Xion is a graduate from LCF and has a degree in 3D Effects for Performance, she has also recently ventured into starting up her own brand and works part-time here at ATIKA. A couple of weeks ago, our team member and stylist Esther, styled Xion in some vintage fits from our store! We shot Xion in and around Brick Lane and finally sat down to do a little Q&A at the end so you can get to know our Xion, a little more.

Describe your style in x3 words?

Cosy, Softboy, Baggy on baggy.

What do you like about vintage?

SO MANY THINGS! I love how every single piece of vintage clothing will be different, you won’t look the same as everyone else who shops on the high street.

Another thing that I love about vintage is that every item has a story and we don’t know what it is. Where has the item come from? Who owned it before? What was that person like? I love it!!!

What was your favourite piece that Esther styled you in for this shoot and why?

I loved all the pieces, but my favourite would be the black and white vest fit. This outfit is exactly the outfit I would wear in a casual situation and would probably throw a shirt underneath to make it a bit more formal. So you can pretty much wear that fit in all situations!

Tell us one of your style icons?

I have so many different styles, so my icons are so varied! But I loveee Héloïse Letissier (Christine and the Queens), I do love a bit of Billie Eilish and Shaquille Keith (PAQ).

You’ve recently been working on starting up your brand “Hooligan.” Can you tell us a little bit more about it and what inspired you to start?

I’ve always been fascinated with football history and how football itself is a culture. One of my favourite things are football scarfs because of the colours, patterns, slogans and sometimes they have really funny things on them! So I just decided it would be cool to play with the colours and patterns and merge them together to make an item of clothing that I myself love. Vests! So that’s where it came about really.

What’s your favourite item or indie brand we have here at ATIKA and why?

At the moment, I’m really loving the sweater vests we have in stock. My bank account is not loving it though as I’ve bought about 6 of them already! But I think that the ones we have stocked are really cool and unique.

What’s your favourite piece of clothing that you own?

You know what, actually an ATIKA item. I found this black shirt with a really cool red dragon on it. I pretty much wear it all the time because I love it so much. And I love how it fits on me too.

What did you learn from being in the last lockdown?

Over lockdown is where I came out as non binary, so I learnt a lot about myself personally and just really learnt not to suppress who I am, because I am great. I’m worthy and strong!

What would you tell a younger you?

Just be yourself from day one.
