CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT - ELSIE MATILDA

London based photography and stylist extraordinaire Elsie Matilda is known for her eye for detail and love of all things colourful. She has worked with the likes of Toksick, Noctis and Dongbird magazines and is usually seen hand in hand with her all-time muse, Felicity Dunstan. Being able to transcend between stylist and photographer has allowed Elsie to create a cohesive style that is flourishing into a brand identity.

How did you get into photography and styling?

I started just taking photos of my friends at school and dressing them up. I made mini magazines and printed out photos.

Do you prefer shooting in a studio or on location?

I prefer on location, I love natural light!

What or who is your biggest source of inspiration? 

It changes all the time, magazines and visiting new places, however I think my mum and friends are my biggest inspiration.

Do you think it’s important to have a cohesive vision for your work?

I think it's important, so everything fits well and runs smoothly.

If you could sum up your creative style in three words what would they be?

Colourful, bubbly and fun

Who or what would be your dream to work with?

I would love to shoot a campaign for a fashion brand. A big dream would be Gucci.
